’79 xs basket case
Craig – Started as a ’79 basket case, motor was painted black by previous owner. I tore the motor apart, stripped all the paint and polished it. I sent the crank and cam to Hugh to get it rephased, then I reassembled it.
I stripped the frame, welded on a Visual Impact kit and did all the body work and paint. He (Mike at Visual Impact) actually helped me out a lot with the painting process too, great guy! Everything has pretty much been gone through on this from seals to hardware.

Here is my 1981 special.
Craig Rutler – Here is my 1981 special. It’s been through many changes but this is how it sits now. This was my first build and before I had my welder. My buddy Sean helped out a lot on this one with the welding and fab. I got the seat rails from Visual Impact, I think his flow the best.
I decided to take the motor apart and send the crank and cam to Hugh to get rephased, once I got them back I rebuilt the motor. The bars were made by WagFab. The taillight is from BCM and I made the bracket for it.
I also made the license plate bracket. Its a kick only with a PMA, PAMCO and sparx capacitor. I wanted the bars to be a clean as possible with a front brake so I did a remote master cylinder with a LCfab reservoir. The rear fender is a brass 7metal west.
I left it raw because this was my only motorcycle at the time and I just wanted to ride.
Now that I have more, I will probably break it down and paint it soon?
