Kirkland – My buddies and I started out with a bone stock 81 650 Special, which was our first ground up build. The beginning idea was just to slap on a hardtail and keep the front stock, but that quickly deteriorated as did my bank account. The tail is from TC Bros, as are the handlebars and forward controls.
The pipes and sissy bar were fabbed up in house, paint was done in the shop as well. We used a narrow sporty tank as our third and final option, threw on new carbs from Mike’s and completely rewired everything.
The tires are Dunlop, the first one’s I’ve had, and ride pretty well. She’s a quick, loud little bike, perfect for ripping around town, and really fun to ride.
