Rick Bettencourt New Hampton, New Hampshire – This is my 1975 XS 650. It was given to me by my employer as a holiday bonus last year. It was a bone stock barn find when I got, but as you can see, that didn’t last long. I have done all the work myself with a little advice from some friends and online videos. The biggest mods were the hardtail, ARDTAIL by ARDCORE CHOPPERS. and Forward controls and linkages by T.C. Bros. The seat is from a police bike, cut down and recovered by me. The taillight is made from an old dispatchers mic.
License plate bracket from ACME CHOPPERS. Rear fender was relocated from the front. Sissy bar / fender bracket is made from round stock and an old pair of scissors. I’m an upholsterer/custom canvas fabricator and these shears have been used by me for over thirty years. Thetank and mufflers are from a sportster. The bike is still in the mock up stage, but it has been ridden throughout the build. I’ll send more pics as the project progresses. Thanks for having such a cool site and for being so supportive of the backyard builders. Talk to you soon .
