Mark’s journey with his Yamaha XS650 began in a rather serendipitous manner. “I bought this little bobber from a guy,” he recalls. It was a humble beginning for what would eventually become a remarkable transformation. Mark’s vision for the bike was clear from the outset, and he wasted no time in putting his personal stamp on it.

One of the standout features of Mark’s build is the custom rear fender. Fabricated entirely by Mark himself, the fender seamlessly integrates with the bike’s overall aesthetic, giving it a sleek and cohesive look. The craftsmanship is evident in every curve and contour, showcasing Mark’s dedication to quality and detail.

Another notable modification is the right-side shift, a nod to the bike’s custom heritage. This unique feature not only adds to the bike’s individuality but also enhances its functionality, offering a more intuitive riding experience. “I built the rear fender and right side shift,” Mark explains, highlighting his hands-on approach to the build.

But Mark’s talents don’t stop at fabrication and mechanical work. He also took on the task of painting the bike himself. The result is a stunning finish that complements the bike’s overall design, highlighting its classic lines while adding a touch of modern flair. The paintwork is a true reflection of Mark’s artistic vision and technical skill.

Underneath the custom exterior lies a powerhouse of an engine. The motor is a 30 over 650cc, providing plenty of punch for spirited rides. This performance upgrade ensures that the bike not only looks great but also delivers where it counts – on the road.

Mark’s build is far from complete, however. He has ambitious plans for the winter, when he intends to tear the bike apart and redo the frame and wiring. This commitment to continuous improvement speaks volumes about Mark’s dedication to his craft and his desire to push the boundaries of what his XS650 can become.
