81 xs650 I bought as a basket case with a butchered hardtail job and really terrible welds all over. The only quality things it had going for it were the front forks had been lowered and it had a David Bird looped hardtail.
With a ton of help from my buddy Bryan We started Cutting out the bad and redoing the hardtail and fixing All the frame problems, ended up taking a lot longer then expected which kinda turned out to be a theme for the bike lol. Painted the motor, We made the sissy bar, chopped and cut up a fender to make this rear one, foot controls, pegs, brake setup, exhaust pipes, license plate bracket and a bunch of tabs and brackets for the bike all the in garage.
It has a fair amount of bought parts on it as well… Zombie Performance riserless rabbit ear bars. Throttle addiction yellow lenses Head light.
Wassle tank, Bates style tail light, brass exhaust tips Cole Foster grips and clutch lever from Lowbrow Customs. Xs charge, digital ignition, capacitor, fake oil tank and weld on kickstand from TC Bros. Joe Wiseguy 2 into 1 intake with Mikuni carb. Speedo delete, engine dress up kit and top motor mount from Hughes Handbuilt.
Harley kicker conversion from Jumpstreet Customs. And bearings and any Yamaha stuff from Mikes Xs. Paint on tins is by @Paintbytoddy in Ypsilanti Mi. Everything else was powder coated. Think the bike turned out pretty nice for my first full on Yamaha build hope you dig it.
