In the world of custom motorcycles, few builds capture the spirit of dedication and craftsmanship quite like Chris’s 1980 Yamaha XS650 Bobber. This striking gray beauty, featuring black wheels and engine, stands as a testament to the countless hours and unwavering passion poured into its creation.

Chris embarked on this journey with a clear vision, inspired by his talented builder friend, Tim C. “This is my first-ever build,” Chris shared, “and it’s been a labor of love.” The result is a machine that not only looks stunning but also embodies the peace and satisfaction found in the art of motorcycle building.

One of the standout features of this bobber is its Mikuni VM34 carbs, ensuring smooth and responsive throttle control. The custom seat adds both comfort and style, while the powder-coated mag wheels provide that classic, timeless look. “The tank features a clear fuel sight,” Chris noted, “adding a unique touch.” This thoughtful detail allows for a quick visual check of fuel levels, blending form with function seamlessly.

Under the hood, Chris has installed a handbuilt Permanent Magnet Alternator (PMA) system, which requires no battery. This innovative setup not only reduces maintenance but also keeps the bike lightweight and ready for action at all times. And when it comes to making an entrance, the Pandemonium short pipes ensure that this XS650 is heard before it’s seen. “To top it all off,” Chris said, “the Pandemonium short pipes make her loud and proud as she roars down the road.”

From every angle, Chris’s 1980 Yamaha XS650 Bobber showcases the meticulous attention to detail and the deep personal connection that went into its creation. It’s a ride that not only turns heads but also tells a story of dedication, inspiration, and the joy of building something truly unique.
