Our member started his journey with a factory-fresh, 100% stock Yamaha XS650. “Started chopping, grinding, and unbolting right away!” he recalls. With the help of his friend Clay, they transformed this classic bike into a stunning bobber. This is his first XS bobber project, and it’s clear that he’s poured a lot of passion and effort into every detail.

One of the standout features of this build is the tank, which was sourced from a Sportster. The chrome bars are a striking 15 inches, adding a bold statement to the bike’s overall look. All the wires and modules have been rerouted and hidden in two custom-made capsules, giving the bike a clean and uncluttered appearance.

The paint job is a true highlight of this build. Done by the owner himself, the bike features a burnt copper metal flake finish along with midnight black pearl accents. The combination of these colors gives the bike a unique and eye-catching aesthetic. “The pipes are black right now, but will soon be polished,” he notes, indicating that the project is still a work in progress.

Future plans for this beauty include rewiring the ignition and starter button to a more unseen location, further enhancing the bike’s sleek look. Despite not being 100% finished, our member couldn’t wait to share his progress with the XS650 community. “Let me know what you think!!” he eagerly asks, showcasing his excitement and pride in his work.

This “81 Burnt Copper Beauty” is a testament to what can be achieved with a bit of vision, some elbow grease, and a lot of passion. Thanks for sharing your incredible build with us! Your bobber project is truly inspiring, and we can’t wait to see the final touches.
