Shane’s journey with his XS650 began humbly, with a stock model that underwent numerous transformations. “Getting to the end started as a staded XS, rent a couple different ways and ended up where I am at the mo and quite happy,” Shane shared. This evolving project has culminated in a striking bobber that captures the essence of classic motorcycle design while showcasing Shane’s personal touch.

One of the standout features of Sootie’s 80 XS650 is its springer front end, which adds a vintage flair and enhances the bike’s overall aesthetic.

The Virago tank, with an additional two inches added to the hardtail, seamlessly integrates into the design, giving the bike a distinctive and aggressive stance. This meticulous customization was no small feat, requiring hours of labor and precision.

The hardtail modification, a crucial element of this build, was a collaborative effort. “Labour of love friend did hard tail; the rest I’ve done myself,” Shane noted. This partnership highlights the camaraderie and shared passion within the motorcycle community, where friends often come together to bring a vision to life.

Shane’s dedication to detail is evident in every aspect of the build. From taping and spraying the guards and tank to refining the wiring, each step was executed with care and precision.

“Taped and sprayed guards tank last wk looks ok wiring to come hopefully this week,” Shane mentioned, underscoring the ongoing nature of this project.

While the bike is nearing completion, Shane acknowledges that there are still a few finishing touches to be made. “Bit more detail number plate bracket back guard mounts to redo, battery bracket tidy up spray speedo mount to redo just little things but get her running now then check thing out,” he explained.

These final adjustments are a testament to Shane’s commitment to perfection and his desire to ensure that every element of the bike is flawless.
