Found this 1981 XS650 in Western North Carolina and actually turned it down the first 3 times I looked at it. It just seemed way to messed up to bother with. The guy who owned it tried to hardtail it o n his own with apparently no experience at all.

He had used a stick welder and only welded his “hard tail” on the top side of the bars! He also thought since he was having charging problems and had replaced the stator already that the problem must be in the wiring so he proceeded to remove the brown wires from the harness! Go figure! The first pic is the way it was when I bought it.

The rest are roughly 2 weeks later with still a long way to go but I think I’ve got a few of the problems fixed. Another one rescued!
