This bike started as a bone stock 1980 xs 650. My buddy had it buried in the woods behind his house, and it was a deal I couldn’t pass up.

I was up for the challenge of dragging the bike out and starting from scratch. I stripped the bike except for everything I planned on using; motor, front end, front section of the frame.

I had been wanting to build a low, fast, and dependable short chop for a long while. Gave the dudes over at Factory Metal Works a call and ordered a 2″ stretch-3″ drop rear section.

The front end is stock Yamaha shaved with Hugh’s 2″ drop spacers. I laced up a 1200 sportster front wheel and adapted to the stock 17-mm front axle.  Rear wheel is Shovelhead with a Mr. lucky’s 32 tooth sprocket.

Rear caliper is FXR and brake master is 2009 sportster. Harley 3/4 axle.  Tank is a Lowbrow high tunnel wassel, rear fender is ribbed with a Fat-boy front fender tip.

Sissy bar is a swap meet find along with FLH spotlight for headlight. Bullet led conversion for the tail light. Seat is being made up by my homie Weston at Counterbalance Cycles.

Bars are just some V-Twin jammers cut down for skinny. Biltwell slimline risers and MSR adjustable clutch lever.  This thing is still a work in progress, but getting all the oddball stuff takes the longest. Finished photos to follow.
