Braido sent us fantastic photos of his 1974 Yamaha XS650 Bobber, affectionately named “The Jalopy.” This bike has a lot of character and some interesting customizations.
Braido’s XS650 Bobber features a hardtail frame and an early 60’s Harley Davidson Springer front end, giving it a classic, vintage look. “The bike is Hardtailed, with an early 60’s Harley Davidson Springer front end,” he explains. The combination of these elements creates a striking silhouette that stands out in any crowd.
Many of the parts on “The Jalopy” come from TC Bros, including the solo seat and tracker-style handlebars. Braido also added a Ford tail light, adding a touch of automotive flair to the build. “Many parts from TC Bros. Solo Seat. Tracker style Handle Bars, Ford Tail light, etc.,” he shares. These components not only enhance the bike’s aesthetics but also its functionality.
Braido is not done with his XS650 just yet. He has plans to make a few changes over the winter months, starting with adding a sissy bar and some ape hangers. “There is always something to do on the jalopy! I always wanted an XS650 Bobber style bike and was pretty happy when I picked it up this summer. Looking forward to making a few changes here and there over the winter months,” he says. It’s clear that Braido’s passion for customizing his bike is far from over.
