74 TX650A Bobber


Done so far – 1974 Yamaha TX650A, TC Bros hardtail, 7 Metal West rear fender, Narrowed Sporty tank, 18″ rear with a Firestone 4.50, 21″ front with a speedmaster, handmade seat pan, Monster chain tensioner, 40’s Fog light used for headlight, E-Bome tank, and custom exhaust.


Still to come – rephased engine, Snafu mid mounts, Springer front end, lots of odds and ends.

    The rear tire is a 4.50 Firestone…. as for color I am going with a Candy pegan gold and a ruby red with heavy flake.

    I will be getting alot of progress done on Tuesday so I will get some new pics. I did lace the front… stock XS front hub, Excel 21″ hoop, and Buchanans stainless spokes and nipples

    The front hub is stock… I want to say I paid around $90 for the spokes and nipples and I did buy the Excel rim new. You can find a used rim much cheaper…. the one I have would be for a early Yamaha dirt bike. If you need more info just let me know

    yeah bryan i need more info….I want to do a 21 on my bike really bad but just dont know where to get the stuff cause people say that mikexs stuff is cheap! What exact excel rim did you get and where did you get the spokes and nipples and what size….if you can email all the specs thats cool to

    There selling a 1974 TX650A in my neighborhood for $1,600 I want to buy it and turn into a bobber. I’m wondering if XS650 parts are compatible and/or if TX650 parts are easy to come by and cheap? help please?

    Yes, everything is interchangeable. Parts are very easy to come by. There is a 74′ TX650 for sale somewhat local to me also on Craigslist…
