scott-1982-xs-650-3Picked this bike up for $275 when it was leaning against some guy’s fence in Marin with ice plant growing through it but clean paperwork.

Became a project for my pop and I to have some fun with and was a great time to build with him. Had a handful of friends help along the way as well who had a lot of chopper experience and gave us helpful hints but let us figure out our own path with the bike.

We did all the work except the shaved forks, we laced the wheels but had somebody true them and had a friend help weld in the hardtail.

We fabbed the mid controls, fit the front fender the rear and made some struts, mounted the tank and seat, and went through the carbs.

The motor was covered in oxidation but was clean inside, rebuilt the top end, changed out every seal, swapped over to a PMA set up and she started on the 3rd kick!

Unfortunately pop wasn’t there to see her fire up, cancer took him while we were on the home stretch on the build.

It was an experience of a lifetime to do this project together, I wish for all you fathers and sons out there to have the same.

Cheers lads
