Restored 1971 Yamaha xs 650

Fine Example; Restored 1971 Yamaha xs650

This 1971Yamaha xs-650 is a fine example of, one of the the most sought after models. It started as a very easy restoration, as it was a very clean original bike to begin with.

Factory Yamaha Stripping On Tank

The bike was obviously the 71 candy gold color when new. The owner that restored this bike from the frame up had it professionally painted the two tone silver that it is today. It really is stunning with all the factory chrome and silver, with the factory Yamaha stripping on the tank. The previous owner told us that to his knowledge the motor has never been apart. It runs great and starts first kick even when cold. Has only been ridden about 150mi since the resto. Much time and attention to detail has been spent on this beautiful bike. All the old rubber grommets, fork seals, Fuel lines, petcocks, and tires are new.

Outstanding looking bike. I’d love to have one of these in stock trim so I could have a comfortable ride for once.

Great looking restoration! The colors suit this model’s styling very well.

I had one of these bikes years ago and regret ever selling it. I’m presently modifying an early model tank like this to fit my 1980 XS650G and have been tossing around colors in my head, but these photos have me thinking in a new direction. Thanks for sharing.
