1981 Yamaha XS650 Custom Chopper

Comments

Very nice 1981 Yamaha XS650 Custom Chopper.

The frame was custom modified (by me) and has been stretched 6 inches. The engine is stock (rebuilt in 2001 and has been riden less than a 1000 miles since the rebuild). It has a Boyer Bransden Electronic Ignition and Mikuni Round Slide Carbs. Continue Reading →

This bike is dead on with the style I dig.

Chopped down minimalist, bare-bones bike with a little class.. The paint job really sets it off. The tank looks like a fishing lure… Job well done…..

Vehicle Description

” I built this bike with a weld on hard tail(cant remember what brand)i actually shorted it by 1/2-1 inch from stock stretch. this Thing handles great! The mags are stock yamaha painted black,(not bmx)there is only a rear drum brake and it work awsome you can easilly lock it up.the fender is a 40’s spare tire ring, the oil bag is where all the wire connections are made and is a santee from 70’s this bike is kick only, starts first kick every time, when its warm itll start with half a kick. Primos Helmet Design’s

I got a open faced helmet and and when I ride it tends to whistle around my ears..  Before the summer comes around I like to have the earpieces re done so it fits better and doesn’t make annoying sounds. The dudes over at primo helmet design have some pretty sick helmets and it looks like they do a badass job. I will probably send a couple of my old skateboarding T-shirts and have them redo my brain bucket.. “I started buying more helmets and together we re-did the lining on all of them just for the hell of it. It started out as a hobby, but as people started checking them out, it turned into a business.”

My beloved 1972 XS650 Yamaha Chopper

“It is one of the desirable years (70-73) for Yamaha enthusiasts. I’ve been told that they are the most collectible because of their racing history. They have the most powerful engines of all the xs650’s. I bought it a year ago from a custom car builder in Michigan. I changed the bars, grips, clutch cable, and plug wires. It is a kick start only but it kicks very easily. Continue Reading →

Yamaha XS650 At Mooneyes Yokohama 2007

Comments

Mooneyes Yokohama 2008 just happened a few weeks ago. There should be a flood of kickASS Japanese custom motorcycle pics getting posted all over online. If anybody has any xs650 pics from the mooneyes show SEND THEM IN !! I’ll be keeping an eye out. Maybe someday I’ll be able to make it to the Mooneyes Yokohama show.. I’ve always wanted to go to Japan. What a beautifully built bike.. It totally captures that beach cruiser bike style. It even has a banana seat..
